Montville Committee Authorizes Demolition of Unsafe Montgomery Avenue Structure

NJ MONTVILLE — Montville orders demolition of unsafe, collapsed Montgomery Avenue structure. The Township Committee voted unanimously to proceed with demolition of the building at 19 Montgomery Avenue, owned by Daniel Lin, after the Morris County Construction Board of Appeals found the structure unsafe and uninhabitable. The Committee also approved a $10,000 affordability assistance loan to Moncerrat Hidalgo for affordable housing purchase and authorized a Planning Board investigation into redevelopment potential for the property at 17 Chapin Road.
The session included a $1.8 million turf project for Community Park Field 3 and extensive roadway and facility improvements as part of the 2026 capital budget discussion.
