Montville adopts 2026 budget with 2.67 percent tax increase

NJ MONTVILLE — Montville adopts 2026 budget with tax increase despite First Aid Squad pleas. The Township Committee unanimously approved the 2026 Municipal Budget, raising the local purpose tax 2.28 percent and the library tax 6.55 percent, resulting in an average household increase of $58.48. Residents urged increased funding for the First Aid Squad, citing volunteer shortages and safety concerns, but the committee budgeted only $35,000, unchanged from prior years.

Police Chief Andrew Caggiano announced that Morris County EMS will provide supplemental support to the local volunteer squad.
